Hello, I am Polly Hockaday, a counsellor based in Oxfordshire. Welcome to my website which gives you more information about me and how I work.
I am a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, which means that I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. I receive monthly supervision to ensure that I work ethically and safely. I qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2010. I currently work in private practice only, with adult clients of all ages (young adults 18-24, adults 25-64, older adults 65+). This can be directly or with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and through other organisations. I have previously worked as a primary care counsellor in NHS GP Practices for several years. There can be times when we find ourselves in confusion, distress or feeling completely stuck; it can then all seem too difficult to make decisions or changes in your life. I provide a professional, supportive, confidential environment for you to reflect on what is concerning you, for me to listen very carefully and for you to be heard clearly; this allows you to begin to process your thoughts and feelings and to begin to be able to make sense of your feelings, difficulties and challenges. I have experience of working with many issues, including: depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, illness, stress, bullying, relationship difficulties, infertility, pregnancy and birth, carer support, redundancy, miscarriage, disability, suicide. We can discuss how to work together, for example: over Long-term, short-term, or Time-limited sessions, and online or face to face. |
